Anantnag: On the one hand, the Maternity child care hospital (MCCH) in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district was declared unsafe by the authorities, and on the other hand the hospital is facing the wrath of stray dogs round the clock.

Sources said that at least 08 people suffered injuries for the last one week, after being attacked by the stray dogs inside the premises of Maternity child care hospital (MCCH) Anantnag.

They said that out of eight victims, three were attendants of the patients (all women), who were attacked by dogs, on different occasions.

“The stray dogs attacked them during night hours when they were walking on the road inside the hospital premises,” sources said.

Talking to Arising state, attendants of the patients blamed that the hospital administration made a dumping site inside the hospital premises, due to which stray dogs roam openly & pose threats all the time.

They said that they have approached the concerned Superintendent several times, “but he didn’t pay heed to the grievances, leaving attendants vulnerable.”

Meanwhile, talking to the Arising State, Principal GMC Anantnag, Showkat Jeelani said that he will look into the matter, and assured that the dumping site in the hospital will be removed.
