Rupee depreciates by 12 paise to Rs 71.22 in early trade

The rupee today depreciated 12 paise to 71 rupees 22 paise in early trade amid strengthening US dollar and rising crude prices.

Yesterday, the rupee had settled 7 paise higher at 71 rupees 10 paise against the US dollar.

Meanwhile, the 30-share BSE benchmark Sensex, was trading at 35,546, down 110 points in early trade. The wide-based Nifty was also trading lower by 43 points at 10,619.
