Budgam Police observed “International Day against Drug Abuse” across the district

Budgam: 26th June 2022 :Budgam Police observed “International Day against Drug abuse and illicit Trafficking” at various police establishments by means of organizing awareness rallies/debates & seminars all across the district. Banners & Placards on ill-effects of drug abuse were displayed at prominent public places to aware the youth as well as society to stay away from drugs & about the ill effects of the drug abuse .

The main rally of the occasion was held by District Police Budgam from District Police Headquarters Budgam to Main town Budgam in which Dy.SP Hqrs Budgam Shri Naeem Wani-JKPS along with SHO Police Station Budgam Inspr. Aftab Ahmad , a large number of Students, youth and respectables of the area participated.

Similarly, An awareness rally was organized from Police Station Khan sahab to Sub-District Hospital Khan sahab and back which culminated at Police Station Khansahib in which Naib Tahsildar Khansahib Shri Mohammad Maqbool SHO Police Station Khansahab Inspr. Atiqullah, Principal IPTS Heights School Khansahib, students of various schools, youth and respectables of adjoining areas also participated.

At Charar-I-Sharief, a rally was organized from Police Station Charar-I-Sharief which rallied through various routes of Town Cheraresharief and culminated back at Police Station Charar-I-Sharief. The rally was attended by Naib Tahsildar Charar-I-Sharief Shri Nisar Ahamd, SHO Police station Charar-I-Sharief Inspr. Gowher Ali, numerous officers of civil authorities and a large no of students from different Schools of the area. Members of civil society and local NGOs also participated in the rally.

At Chadoora, a seminar was conducted at Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School Chadoora to aware the youth as well as Society to stay away from drugs and the ill effects of the drug abuse was also discussed during the seminar. The seminar was organised by Budgam Police in collaboration with Loul foundation, Revenue and Excise Department in Which Civil Administration Officers, SHO Police Station Chadoora Inspr. Mehboob Hussain, Principal of GBHSS Chadoora, local Youth , Students , respectables of the area also participated with enthusiasm. Later a rally was also carried out from Boys Hr. Secondary School Chadoora to main market Chadoora.

At Magam, a rally was organized by District Police Budgam from GBHSS Magam to Bus stand Magam in which SDPO Magam Shri Mohammad Saleem-JKPS , Tehsildar Narbal Shri Zaffar Ahmad, SHO Police Station Magam Inspr. Yasir Ahmad and other officers participated. Members of civil society, students, youth and respectables of the area also participated in the rally. A seminar was also conducted at Degree college Magam to spread awareness about drug abuse and its ill effects on society.

At Beerwah, a rally was organized from Tehsil office Beerwah to Municipal office Beerwah in which Mufti Lateefi Sahab along with SHO Beerwah Insp. Firdous Ahmad and other officers participated. Members of civil society, Trader Fraternity, Students of different schools, youth and respectables of the area also participated in the rally.

On the occasion, Sr. Superintendent of Police Budgam Shri Tahir Saleem-JKPS in his message advised the parents to pay keen attention towards the behavior of their children & not to put any psychological pressure upon them which could attract them towards drug menace. He also advised youth to take part in sports activities besides excelling in their academics for proper channelization of their energy.
